SERVICES - After School Clubs

Suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities (method and content adjusted accordingly ). Also suitable, with content adjustment, for longer term projects.

A first Session involves the big plastic drums the first week with one to two children to a drum. We would aim to get them involved in a fun drumming activity, fairly noisy. The aims would be: getting them to work together; increase their confidence; learn some basic rhythms. If there was a second session then we might, depending on how things go, add in some other instruments, tubular bells etc. They will learn some new rhythms; possibly do a soundscape based on a storm, for example. They would be given the opportunity to try out conducting the group. Each session would last between 1.5 to 2 hours.

This is only practical, as an outreach activity, if more then one group taken during the working day.

We have worked with a wide range of groups. A favourite scenario seems to be getting us down for several days. The younger staff members are usually OK about fairly basic accommodation.
